Until it's gone
What is support? Perhaps it's best defined as something you don't know you have until it's gone.
Imagine a giant ball of business decisions poised atop a strong support system. Over time the ball grows as more decisions are piled on. As long as the support system grows and is augmented in concert with the ball of decisions, all is well.
If, however, the support is neglected, it breaks under the pressure and ultimately gives way. What have we left?
The ball, without it's support, begins to roll freely down hill. Rapidly it grows in size as it picks up more decisions on it's way down. Growing so large, so quickly, it soon implodes on itself and evaporates into the ether never to exist again.
